My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

D-I-V-O-R-C-E. I had no idea what that word meant
until recently. It means I lose my Mom, my Dad, my
kids and my home. It means the end of one chapter
and the beginning of the next. It means I need to
reach out and look for a new home where people will
hopefully remain together and where the kids won’t
have to bear the heartache of losing their pet.
My name’s Rocky. And like the boxer named after
me, I’m no quitter. I won’t let misfortune define me. I
may have lost everything I had, but I’m no loser.
I’m a 3 year old neutered male Rat Terrier, built like a
sphinx, sleek and elegant. I’m fast and energetic,
sensitive and strong. I work hard to keep the yard
free of invaders and I watch over my home like a
little policeman. Just 10 pounds of pure muscle, pure
intensity, pure action, pure love.

I’m up to date on my shots, housebroken and
microchipped. Got a neat little bobbed tail and
ears that can pick up even the slightest whisper
from a mouse. I enjoy patrolling the yard,
searching for any signs of intrusion, but I also
enjoy lying on the couch with my owner,
watching TV or just staring out the window at
the birds. I also love riding in the car, watching
the world speeding by and imagining I’m hunting
all the things I see.

My breed has long been used for hunting vermin, but I also can be a fine family dog. My most
critical need in the home will be a securely fenced yard, because once I go to ground, I’m off
with no turning back.
