My story

Hi, my name is Luke Skywalker, and let me tell you a little about myself. I am named after that famous hero from Star Wars. In my own way I am quite the survivor. I was surrendered and not in very good shape when I came here. I was malnourished and flea infested and missing most of my beautiful fur. I am doing great now and have gained over 2 pounds. My beautiful fur is growing back fast. I am a very happy, lovable guy who is very grateful for the care I have gotten from so many nice people here at the shelter. I love attention and will talk to you when you are near. I am waiting for my new furever home. Please come by and see me. We try very hard to find the perfect match for the cats and dogs in our care with the families who seek to adopt a new pet. ALL OF OUR ANIMALS ARE RESCUED FROM MASSACHUSETTS AND HOUSED IN MASSACHUSETTS. WE DO NOT "RESCUE" ANIMALS FROM OUT-OF-STATE- CATS AND DOGS DIE EVERY DAY IN MASSACHUSETTS. THEREFORE, WE SAVE AND ADOPT OUT ONLY LOCAL ANIMALS. You can visit our animals at any time and as often as you like, PRIOR to adopting. We are always in need of new temporary foster homes for dogs - every foster home means another dog saved. Our adoption process begins with a phone interview and after that we set up a time for potential adopters to come meet the cats or dogs that we think might be a good match.
