UPDATE: IRIS is doing SUPER great after her surgery!! She isn't quite ready to run a marathon yet, but is getting around normally and doing a great job of slowly reintroducing weight on her repaired knee. NOW all she needs is a forever family to love her! If you are the lucky family - get ready for some serious lovin'! This highly intelligent gal takes the time to measure your dog-savvy and if she finds you worthy - fully embraces your love with a strong bond! All happy tail wags and fun, IRIS is that rare jewel that all Chi-lovers want to find and we hope she is truly treasured by forever love very soon!
IRIS (ACR12-0005)
Poor little IRIS! Brought to us in the dark of night, unable to bear any weight on her back left leg, or even to eat for over 48 hours due to horrific teeth conditions, this tiny gal (5 lbs) arrived in terrible shape. IRIS was found limping along the road by a family in Houston, who were unable to locate her owners. Enter a local rescuer with previous contact at ACR who rallied a volunteer to drive little IRIS all the way to Austin so we could get her the care she needs! More importantly - a forever family that will not neglect her the way her last one clearly did. Our wonderful donors and Chihuahua lovers raised the funds needed to repair her torn ACL, sterilize her for adoption and give her a much needed dental! She is on the road to recovery, but will need some physical therapy to learn how to walk on that newly repaired leg. We cannot thank you enough for your continued support of all our Chibabies!
