Too many things in life don't make sense and how this adorable little dog wound up in a high kill gassing shelter is one of them. Only 2 to 3 years old and appearing to be full blood Rattie, Hazel processes a true zeal for life and has the energy to go with it. She absolutely
loves running, romping, & playing tug of war with the other dogs in her foster home, and she gets along splendidly with the resident horses and cat. As for her attitude and behavior toward people: she is extremely loving & affectionate, and in the company of children age 5 & up she's 'one of the gang ' - playful & friendly. Hazel is not a digger, nor is she an excessive barker, but due to the level of energy she operates on it's recommended that she go to a home with a fenced yard and an active family. She is completely house trained and will go to the door when needing to go out to do her business. Hazel is also crate trained and will sleep quietly in her crate, although given a choice she prefers to snuggle under the covers with her human. Hazel doesn't suffer from any phobias, such as separation anxiety or fear of loud noises, but she does have a tendency to be a tad aggressive toward other animals when it comes to food & treats. This might be because of how terribly underweight she was when rescued - but with patience and training this tendency can be corrected. All in all, Hazel is a "pawsome" little dog...... quirky & happy, and deserving of a safe and loving forever family to call her own. To see more pictures of Hazel please
