Here's what the humans have to say about me:
3/2/12 - I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!
Adoption Fee: $425
Fostered in Louisiana
Age: 3 years
Weight: 3.2 lbs.
1/19/12 - Hi, my name is Peyton and I’m a pit/rottie mix. Just kidding, but I am definitely a big dog in a small dog body. I am full of myself and want everyone to know it.
I used to have a loving mom and dad, but they decided to have a baby with 2 legs and boy did that send my life for a loop. They were afraid that I would hurt the baby with my snappy, overzealous personality, so they gave me to rescue. Can you believe that? You devote yourself to people from birth and wham, they just give you up like non-kept new years resolutions.
Speaking of resolutions, I’ve made a few myself. 1) Find a mom and/or dad that can not/will not be having 2 leggers; 2) Take up meditating. I hear the calming effect is good for high-strung cuties such as myself; and 3) Learn to realize that I don’t have to be the biggest, baddest yorkie in the home.
As stated, I will not go to a home with small children or one that is active as the chaos just sends my little brain into overdrive and stresses me. My appetite for food and life is 100%. I attack - ok, maybe bad choice in words, I greet each day like it is my first and my last. I love people and LOVE toys. Takes me a little while to start playing with them in a new home, but once I'm settled, I will have them strewn all over and I love the squeaky ones. I can be a barker, so an apartment would not be the best home for me. It’s not all the time, just if I get started for whatever reason, it takes me a while to come down. I can tend to get mentally overstimulated easily and need a calm household that doesn’t preempt me to act as if I went to classes with Napoleon.
I do well with a bath, love to give kisses, LOVE having my belly rubbed and will totally fall asleep during rubbings, am VERY treat/food oriented (which is a plus if you are wanting to teach me things) and am very observant. The one time I don't have alot of energy is when it is time for bed. All foster mom and dad have to do is turn out the light and I'm out until morning.
I would probably do best in a home without cats and if you have another dog, one that wouldn't put up with my crap would be better. I wouldn’t mind having another 4-legged brother or sister, but he or she would need to not be too submissive or I might be too much for them. I might be little, but I’m a scrapper and not afraid of anything.
I’m working on my potty training but am currently wearing a belly band (diaper for male dogs) since I have just recently been neutered and still have the urge to mark. Do realize that I'm tiny and so is my bladder and I can’t hold it long. So a home where someone is gone 8 hours or more a day and cares if they have to come home and clean up tinkle spots isn’t for me.
Do some soul searching and self-observation and if you truly think you can provide me the home that I deserve, fill out that online adoption application.
Woof! Woof!
