Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sahara is a really special girl! She was born out on the Ft. McDowell Indian Reservation in June/July 2011, where she roamed with her mother and sibling. The tribal police picked them all up in August when Sahara was a very young puppy. The family escaped the kennel and it was two months later before they were caught again. Poor Sahara had never know kindness - she only knew hardship and survival. When we first got her, she shook with fear. It has been a wonderful experience to watch her transformation into a playful, fun-loving dog. She is still wary of people and will back away if you spontaneously reach out to her. She does often approach us now on her own and likes to be petted. Sahara needs a family who is willing to continue to work with her and help her gain confidence. She has an obvious loving personality that needs to be encouraged with time, patience and love. Sahara is great with small children and other dogs. She really enjoys playing with her doggy friends and needs a home with at least one other younger, playful dog. She is crate-trained (although you do have to chase her down and catch her to put her in the crate) and house-broken. I have listed Sahara as a Lab mix, but honestly I have never seen another dog that looks like her and she is a definite mixed-breed. Her markings are stunning and she has beautiful eyes. Sahara is de-wormed, spayed, micro-chipped and vaccinated for rabies and DAPP. Her adoption fee is $175. If you are interested in meeting Sahara, please contact Delon.Washo@asu.edu or 602-295-4518.
AZ Prussian Snailhound Dog Rescue would like to remind everyone that puppies are a big commitment and require a lot of attention. Puppies often exhibit undesirable behaviors such as chewing and digging. Of course they also are a lot of fun and are very lovable too. When choosing a puppy please consider how much time you will be able to spend training and socializing your new puppy.
