Here's what the humans have to say about me:
COURTESY POST
Thor is a sweet seven year old, neutered purebred Weimaraner in need of his ‘Forever Home’.
As a puppy, Thor belonged to my best friends’ youngest daughter. He lived with them until he was three and the family moved to Utah. With a myriad of obstacles: toddler, new infant, no fence, house on a cliff, they were heartbroken so I took him in even though I already had two big dogs and a cat. Flash forward four years - - Thor’s first family’s situation hasn’t improved.
Thor is a very sweet, smart boy who loves to be around his people and is really good with kids. Playful and active, he apparently thinks he’s still a puppy; he’d sit in your lap if you let him! VERY loving, wiggles out of his fur with joy and excitement when you love on him. Thor gets VERY anxious when left home alone so we don’t. He is an excellent watchdog: he doesn’t have those supersonic ears and power sniffer for nothing!
Between my two big dogs and my boyfriend’s two big dogs, unfortunately, this is one big dog too many (5!). I took him on temporarily and sadly Thor was last dog in a crowded boat. My yellow Lab/Chow mix has gone off on Thor on four occasions, three of those times necessitated emergency vet care. Thank goodness we were able to rapidly intervene so there was no permanent damage, but who knows when it will happen again.
He is a gorgeous example of his breed and always gets the lion’s share of ooh’s and aah’s when people see them, and therefore the easiest to find a new home for. We’ve had folks we didn’t know express interest in him, but simply could not let him go to unknowns as Thor deserves the best!
Thor will only be adopted to a home where he can live inside with a fenced yard. If you are interested in Thor, please go to www.neomastiffrescue.com and fill out the adoption application. Of course, substituting a weimaraner for a mastiff in all questions... lol! As soon as your application is received, you will be contacted. Thank you for looking to rescue and considering Thor!
