My story

I am so happy to meet you. My name is April and I am a beautiful dog in case you were wondering. I came into Ahimsa with my friend Suzie and we were found chained by the sheriff's department literally starving to death and so neglected. Not being one to hold a grudge, we are so grateful to be at Ahimsa's foster Mom Angel E's farm. She has tons of room for us to run and play and lots of food for us to eat and put back on our weight.

Angel E says I am a very good dogger and love to play with my toys and love love love treats. Of course being a foster mom that means she has lots of dogs for me to play with and boy do I love to play. I am very energetic and can wag my tail from the neck back. You know when I am happy which is most all the time. I am good with dogs of all sizes and ages too.

Did you know that black labrador's were used by fisherman in the 1800's in Newfoundland to retrieve the fish nets from the icy water? Glad I ended up in Oklahoma and not the freezing waters of Newfoundland! However; I am smart enough to get the fish nets and hardy enough to enjoy romping outside. So if you are a fisherman, boatman or just enjoy the water - I might be the dog for you.
