Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Kosai, (kO-sI), which means "greatness and smallness", is a 1 1/2 year old Red male Shiba Inu/Chihuahua mix. He came in from Adam's County Animal Shelter as a stray.
Kosai is very sweet, loves affection. He is good with men, women, and children. For the most part he is good with other dogs and loves to wrestle and play but there are some that he just instantly does not like. He has been around my own personal Shih tzu and Saint Bernard, in fact he loves playing with my Saint, he has been also around Roso who is a Shiba/Akita mix, the three Shiba mix puppies and our pregnant female Shiba from the puppy mill. He is hit or miss with kitties; he's just very interested in them and sometimes he barks and chases them, other times he ignores them and other times he play bows at them. I think he thinks he wants to play but doesn't understand that the kitties don't want to.
Kosai LOVES to play with toys but gets a bit stiff and unsure when you try to take something of higher value like a bone. Trading him a treat or another bone for what he currently has really helps teach him that by giving something up he gets something better.
Kosai first came into rescue needing work with both potty training and crate training, both areas which he is succeding now. He is fed in the crate as well as time is spent with him daily where treats are given for him walking into the crate and having the door shut. When we first got him in he would vocalize in the crate but now he goes right in and settles down. He has not had an accident since the first few days in rescue but he doesn't really ask out, he just follows the other dogs in and out in his foster home.
Kosai's adoption fee is $300.00. He is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, vaccinated for distemper/bordatella/rabies and will come with a professional training course.
