Here's what the humans have to say about me:
FOR ADOPTION - BOOMTOWN DOG – “Casino” (female) FOR DAYS, “CASINO” ELUDED CAPTURE AS SHE LINGERED OUTSIDE OF AREA CASINOS IN BOSSIER CITY, LA., FRIGHTENED AND HUNGRY! After several days of people trying to catch her, Tanya Cool and Melissa Swanson spent several hours gaining her trust and finally captured her.
Casino’s story is one of hopelessness and despair as so many people tried to help her. For days, she lingered around area casinos in the Bossier City, Louisiana, area. Pet Savers of Shreveport was contacted by an employee of one of the casinos for help in capturing her. Pet Savers, low on resources and manpower, posted a plea on Facebook for someone to help this poor abandoned sweet girl. Two ladies, Tanya Cool and Melissa Swanson, pulled out all the stops and set up camp for several hours with some tasty bacon and eventually gained her trust enough to capture her. The pictures depict the heartwarming and heart pounding rescue. From the moment she was rescued, she has shown that she can trust and has become a wonderful, sweet girl who gets along wonderfully with other animals, children, adults... you name it. She took a specific special interest in Tanya’s young daughter. However, whoever owned her did not care for her... she’s high heartworm positive and has had puppies in the past. For whatever reason, she ended up at the casinos in Bossier City, La. Whether she was dumped there or wandered there on her own, no one knows. Her days of being homeless, abandoned, unloved and unwanted, though, are over. She’s being fostered by a wonderful man, Brad, who after watching her amazing rescue unfold, stepped up to foster her. She is being spayed the week of January 9th, 2012. She’s been fully vaccinated and dewormed. Pet Savers is paying for all of her vetting. While her heartworm test results were positive, she has been started on a Heartgard to stop the heartworm production and will continue the monthly preventive. She is being observed and monitored during each course of preventive. A potential adopter can discuss with their veterinarian whether she would be a good candidate for treatment or continue the preventive. Casino is HOUSETRAINED and has caused her foster home no problems whatsoever. She will make anyone a wonderful loving companion for the rest of her life. It’s estimated that Casino is approximately 2-3 years old. She appears to be a Jack Russell Terrier, possibly pure-bred. If you wish to give this loving girl a wonderful forever home, please e-mail Melissa Swanson at melswanson502@yahoo.com for an adoption application. Please note that you will be REQUIRED to understand heartworms and you MUST agree and understand that she must stay on a heartworm preventive her entire life (as all dogs should). If you cannot adopt this sweet girl, please take a moment and share her story on Facebook or Twitter to help this little “Lucky Lady – Casino” find her forever home. Thank you for your care and concern for those that cannot care for themselves.
