My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Blackjack – the perfect family dog! He weighs about 30lbs at 6 months of age. He loves to play with his foster dog siblings and children. He also gets along well with the household cat. Blackjack LOVES to be around people. His favorite time is when going for a walk. He is happy to walk ahead of you but will always wait for you and does not pull on his leash. He knows “sit”, “stay”, “to me”(an informal command to come) and is working on “down”….Blackjack is also housebroken although typical for a 6-month old, he may still have an ‘accident’ every now and then.

Blackjack is a medium energy boy…he loves to play, walk and run around, but then is content to lie at your feet or snuggle next to you on the couch. He doesn’t like to lay on people, but wants to snuggle next to you so that you and he are touching. Expect him to get up and follow you as you move around the house.

As is the case with rescue dogs, his breed is a best-guess, but he does have double-rear dew claws on one leg. This indicates he has some mountain dog breed in his genes. He is incredibly soft to pet although we have not noticed him shedding at all…this may change with the seasons. He loves to be brushed and will roll on his back to make sure you get his tummy too! He is also the easiest dog I have ever bathed. He will jump in the tub of water and just sit and wait for you to rub him all over to wash him. What a good boy!

All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, current on their vaccinations, heartworm tested if age appropriate; treated for fleas/ticks and urgently awaiting adoption!
