Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This little 6 month old Am Staff beauty was rescued at the last minute when the severely overcrowded city shelter she found herself in, said her time was up. The staff was in love with Monica and pleaded with us to take her in so, Stray From The Heart made a little room in its group foster home for this adorable little girl. When she first arrived, her tail wagged so hard and fast when she saw the other dogs that we marveled at her ability to keep her balance and not fall over. She was so excited that she didn't know what to do first. Since Monica had only known the inside of a crate the last week, the first thing we did was to take Monica to an enclosed area of the park where we threw toys for her to play with. We were amazed at how this young little bundle of energy retrieved the toys each and every time with such enthusiasm and happiness. After a few more throws, Monica came home to a big delicious dinner which she gobbled right up...pleading for seconds. Who could resist those sweet dark chocolate eyes? We have found that the thing that makes her wiggle the most is when she meets and greets new people on the streets during her walks. It must be this angel's wings that keep her from falling over with sheer joy and delight! At 28 lbs, Monica is putting on some much needed weight and will probably be about 50 lbs when fully grown. She has a magnificent shiny black coat speckled with some dark brown brindle towards the back. With her gorgeous soft white chest and matching front booties, Monica is a real show stopper. In addition to playing with other dogs, Monica loves children and almost wiggles herself out of her skin when she sees them. She is becoming housebroken in record time for such a young pup, and we know with a little individual attention, Monica will be 100% housebroken in no time. She is spayed and up to date with her shots. if you would like to adopt Monica, please call Beth at 914 774 4089 or 212 496 1053.
