My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dixie - ARPH 9716
Dixie is a seven year old black tri female with a docked tail, she is fully vetted, spayed and on heartworm prevention.

Dixie came to us after being used for several years for breeding and is happy to join ARPH for her retirement years. She appears to be the daughter to Daisy also listed here.

Although a bit shy at first she is quickly warming up to people. She is a stunning black tri with a full and shiny coat. She is a bigger girl at over 60 pounds now but is working on getting her waist line back. She enjoys walks and rides. Dixie has lost several pounds now and she is only two pounds away from her goal weight. Her foster home has nothing but good things to say about Dixie. She would do best in quieter home without small children. She is still timid with men but is learning to love and trust. She is housebroken and has wonderful manners in the house.

Here is what her foster home has to say about Dixie.
Dixie is as sweet as a dog can be and hard to believe after the life she has led. She is looking for someone to put her total trust into and will make them a wonderful baby. She has a sweetness that shows through. I think underneath she is strong, she had to be to get this far and not be mean. If I did not have my other babies I would never let her leave, she touches my heart. I come around a corner and she is there and nothing but meekness show through. She wants to love so much, she loves walking with you but still learning about a lead. She has never offered to bite or even a growl. God had made her a perfect dog and man has made her life so hard.

The perfect home for Dixie would be one without a lot of men, maybe a single woman or an older couple with genlte manner. She is fine with other dogs and just wants to fit into a pack. Many people overlook older dogs but they make some of the best pets lots of love to give and happy to have a home. No accidents and chewing the bad habits are gone!
