Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sadie is a sweet and beautiful orange and white Brittany with a undocked feathered tail. She is in great physical shape and very active. She enjoys playing with our 8 year old female Brittany and 2 active toddlers.
Sadie has been with us since March 17. She is getting used to an indoor life after having been kept outside for the last 2 years. She is so curious about her new environment and spends lots of time exploring all parts of the house. It is going to take her a bit of time to feel comfortable and re-learn all her indoor manners … commands, jumping up and housetraining. She still likes to explore outside on a leash but quickly decides that she would rather be inside with her family. Sadie stays in a crate during the day while we are at work. She barks a bit at first but quickly settles down. At night, she sleeps on our bed or nicely in the crate. She has not had any accidents in the crate but has had a few inside the house. We are working on teaching her to ring a bell on the door when she is needs to go outside. Sadie just needs someone to give her lots of love and attention so she can feel secure. She is a lap dog at heart but also has fun and playful side. You have to meet Sadie – she likes to give hugs! A yard with a 6 foot fence (she can jump a 4 ft fence) would be ideal so she can enjoy the freedom of outdoor life. Please give us a call so I can tell you all about her!!
History
Sadie came to rescue in early March from West Virginia after being given up by her owner. Sadie’s owner had to move back home with her family and Sadie was no longer able to live indoors. Since Sadie has had to be tied outside for the last 2 years, her owner made the decision that she deserves a better life and contacted ABR asking that we find a better home for her. She was very well taken care of, and the vet even commented that she did not look like a dog who was kept outside as Sadie had been, and even looked younger than the 5 years the owner recalled she is.
