Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sugar was about 9 months old when she was rescued. As fate would have it she had been dumped out by the lake apparently the same morning a benefit dog walk was scheduled that we attended. She was a skinny little thing, covered with fleas, ticks and worms. Even though she was looking rather neglected you would never know it from her disposition and spirit. She is a friendly happy girl who loves being around people. She was treated for her ailments and she thrived. One afternoon she followed another dog that dug out under the fence during play time and took off on a joy run in the country.
The other dog came back but Sugar did not. It was 6 days before she was found. Apparently she had got hung up in a downed barb wire fence and ripped one of her hind legs to pieces as she worked on her escape. She had lost a lot of weight as she fought for her freedom and was very weak but she never gave up as she found her way back to us. Our vet was amazed she had survived at all in her condition! He tried to save her leg but it was in too bad shape. It was amputated and she is making a great recovery.
Sugar is a medium sized dog weighing between 35-40lbs and is fully grown. What she really needs now is a family to love and play with her. A family as special as she is that is willing to keep her as an inside dog. She is fully house broke, kennel trained, spayed and up to date on shots. She would make a wonderful family pet... oh yea, Sugar asked me to mention that she can get around on 3 legs just fine, thank you very much. If you are interested in adopting this girl please email us at sapa@Windstream.net
Sugar’s adoption fee is $495 which will help cover a small portion of her medical expenses.
