Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Little Winston is one of the most adorable, smartest little ones to come along in some time. Winston appears to be mostly dachshund and mixed with possibly chihuahua, but we cannot be sure. Whatever he is certainly makes for a great dog! Winston has the most adorable long ears and little brindle feet.
Winston is a puppy so he is always curious about what is going on both inside and outside the house. He loves to run and jump, explore the yard, blankets, you name it, he is exploring it. He also loves playing with toys. Since Winston is very playful,he would enjoy a young, playful, small canine sibling in his forever home.
Winston is extremely sweet and sleeps quietly through the night in his crate (but we are sure he would be oh so happy to sleep in the big bed with you.) Winston is doing excellent on his house training. He has had very few accidents in the house. Winston has even gone potty in the rain. He does not believe he will melt like some dachshunds. He will need someone who will continue to take him out often and train him with positive reinforcement.
Winston has lived with cats, and dogs, and we think he would be fine with children of all ages but he is tiny (about 6 lbs) and is most likely to stay that way, so we would hope to have him in a home with older, gentle children.
Winston is current on shots, very healthy, neutered and microchipped. The ideal home will have the following attributes:
• Someone at home most of the day, stay-at-home moms/dads and folks who work from home.
• Previous dachshund experience is a plus, but not essential.
• Another dachshund for play and companionship.
• A very secure INDOOR place for Winston to be when no one is at home.
• Applicants should be between 25 and 65 years of age.·
No infants or toddlers, please, but we will consider families with gentle children.
If you can provide a loving home for him, please contact Janice at rplsecr@sbcglobal.net, and fill out our online adoption application at www.scdr.org
Winston's tax deductible adoption fee is $325
