KC is an adorable 8.5lb poodle (appears to be pure bred) who is experiencing love for the first time. He is about 10inches tall at the shoulders so can be considered a toy or miniature poodle. We suspect he was a puppy mill stud in his prior life. He landed in a shelter when the family he lived for 9 months dumped him at a shelter. He came to ROAR with his fur matted, ears infected and painful gums. His fur was shaved, teeth cleaned (no extractions!) and ears treated. KC is a shy boy. He appears to prefer women although he gets along well with his foster dad after getting to know him. KC also lives with a cat, dogs and children and gets along with everyone. When he arrived in his foster home, he was fearful and would back away when someone startled him. Now, he is showing how brave he is and will slowly approach a new person and maybe even give a few kisses. KC is housebroken in his foster home, but needs to be closely monitored until this new skill becomes a habit. His housebreaking will need to be reinforced when he goes to his forever home. He has not shown interest in playing with toys (he doesn't know how!) but does enjoy chewing on a bone. His favorite activity is cuddling up next to his foster mom on the couch. Adoption Fee is $250 (includes deworming, microchip with free registration, age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter, 30 days of health insurance). Any donation above the adoption fee is appreciated and helps us continue to rescue dogs.
