Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I have had a heck of a life too! If you read Amber’s bio, mine is pretty much the same. I started out with a breeder who had 90 Pomeranians. Twenty eight of us got out of there together and were taken to some property where we lived in a storage shed with a little fence around it. The door was propped open with a rock so we could go in and out. There were some pretty cold nights out there! We had some old bench car seats to sleep on or sometimes we got underneath them to hide when we were scared. No one lived on the property to give us attention. Someone dropped off food and water and put it in a big bin once a day. We were there for a couple of months, until someone else came and got us (me & Amber) out. We went straight to the doctor, who gave us all our shots. Our coats were really matted and a bit smelly. The groomer was able to cut out the matts and groom me without having to shave all my hair off. After all that, we went to a nice warm house and got our “own” bowl of food and a warm bed.
I have been at my foster’s home now for about 2 weeks. I am doing much better. I didn’t really want to trust or come to anyone at first. Now I will come to my foster, but I am still not sure about strangers. Once I know you are okay, I like to lick you and kiss a lot! I do bark at the house cats sometimes, but sometimes they call my bluff and chase me down the hall. Then, I squeal because it’s okay for me to chase them, but not okay for them to chase me! I am good with the other dogs in the house! We go out and play in the back yard until we get tired, then I am ready to come in the house! I am doing pretty good with house training and I like sleeping in bed with my foster and the other house dogs.
I have really shiny jet black hair with a little white on my chest and right under my bottom lip! My hair is so sleek and my eyes are dark brown which makes it hard to see my face and how absolutely cute I am! I have been a little finicky with my food. I just eat enough to get by, and not a “chow hound” like Amber! I like to take my time and not eat it all at once.
I am heart worm negative, but I did test positive for Ehrlichia. The doctor said I have no symptons, it just showed up in the blood test. It is from a tick bite and I am taking antibiotics (Doxycycline) for 3 weeks. The doc said the meds should take care of it, although it will always show up in my blood work.
I have never been anyone’s someone special, but I am looking forward to that day!
Ready for adoption on 12/24/11
I am about 2 years old, weigh 8 pounds and am heartworm negative. I had to have a lot of stuff done with the doctor so my adoption fee is $150.00.
