My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Last year lung cancer claimed his papa.
This year his mom’s Alzheimer’s progressed to the point where she could no longer care for him.

This sad situation has created the need to find Smokey a new home.

He is a neutered male cat, 6 years young, with purrsonality plus!
Smokey will make you laugh and smile while he plays with his toys, and warm your heart when he collapses at your feet for some attention. This big purr-machine is adorable and affectionate with people, but would be happiest in a home where he is an only pet, since he does not “work & play well” with other cats.

Smokey had a wellness exam in September & everything checked out great, except he needs to lose a little weight. Here is this boy’s story in his own words:

“I was so blessed five years ago when mommy and poppy took me in off the streets and turned me into a pampered house cat. We all loved each other so much and for a few years life was really good. Then papa passed away and it was just me and mommy. After a while she got something called Alzheimer’s and couldn’t live in our home anymore. My happy family has been broken up by death and illness and I am desperately seeking a new special person or persons to love. I’m a quiet boy capable of entertaining myself with my toys. But I also love to cuddle and be petted. Do I sound like someone you’d like to cuddle
