My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ashanti (Shanti) loves to show off her big smile! She is our first smiling Doberman here at DDRI!

Well, Shanti's story is this... She belonged to a lady who had 5 kids and could no longer care for her AND her children. So, her cousin, being the animal lover he is, offered to care for Shanti so she would not have to go to the shelter. Well, he soon realized a dog and his life and job did not go well together. His long hours at work left Shanti home alone most of the time. He knew this was not fair to her, so he decided to contact a rescue.

So, now Shanti is here and hoping to find a wonderful forever home.

She is sweet as pie and pretty active. She LOVES to cuddle and, of course, smile!

She is going to the vet and will receive all vaccines, a HW test and will also be spayed prior to placement.

Shanti is 4 years old and has natural ears, a docked tail and weighs about 55 lbs.

She has lived with children, dogs and cats without issues.

We are still getting to know her so more to come....
