My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bogie came to SCDR from a shelter in Modesto where he was found wandering the streets. His time in the shelter didn't seem to faze him as he is a happy and sweet little three-year old, and is friendly with everyone.

Bogie shares food well with other dogs without being aggressive. He loves to sit in laps and jump on the couch and snuggle next to his person. He sleeps in a kennel at night, and goes in it many times during the day. He never complains or whimpers. He doesn’t bark, dig or chew. Bogie is house trained. He is a very nice little house dog.

Bogie has strong hunting instincts. Families with pet birds would not work for Bogie. He has an obsession with stalking birds and trying to kill them. We don’t think he’d be safe around cats either.

He would make a wonderful companion for any single person or couple living in a fenced house, condo, or apartment as long as he received adequate exercise. He could go to a home with respectful children age 8 and up.

Bogie is light weight and at only 10 lbs. is easy to carry up and down stairs if need be. (dachshunds should not go up and down stairs as part of their daily routine as this can cause a back injury).

Bogie is neutered, current on all his vaccinations and micro chipped.
