My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Molly is a funny, adorable, affectionate and playful Jack Russell Terrier. Shes 11 years old but has the energy of a young dog. She is very obedient, knows all kinds of commands and is happy being out on a walk or chasing a toy. Molly is very fun, but also can be a lap dog. She will sit by your side and watch TV or take a nap. She is a funny little dog that will make you smile. Shes smart and loyal.

NO ADOPTION FEE! To help Molly get adopted, her adoption fee has been waived and her adoption package includes a year of flea and tick medication, 6 months of food, medication, dental cleaning and medical exams.

Though Molly is 11, Jack Russell Terriers can live up to 17 years. Molly lived with her owner, who passed away, for most of her life and now its time to find a new home.

Here's Molly's back story from current owner: ' I work 10+ hour days (which is too long of a day for Molly to be home alone), Molly really misses my grandmother (who passed away) and I do not want to resort bringing her to a shelter where they will put her down if she isn't adopted. I am desperately seeking a new home for Molly. My grandmother was home with Molly every day except when she went out for errands, appointments, etc. Since all my family members have their own dogs, they can't let Molly move in with them because she has 'only dog syndrome' and was never socialized. Very energetic, loves to go on 3+ mile walks and is an excellent watch dog; Enjoys playing with her Kong and Galileo toys; She enjoys to cuddle and will sit on your lap for hours; and She loves belly rubs and gives hugs by putting her paws around your neck. Molly would be best in a home with no other dogs, no cats and children over 5 years old. Molly gets along very well with both men and women.'

As a typical JRT she has a high prey drive and will chase wildlife.  Applications are being considered for Molly as the only pet in a home.  Molly is reactive to other dogs and small children and would do best in a home with an active couple who like to walk and are looking for a companion.

Molly is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations and ready to go home with you. She is going to be micro-chipped and receive a dental cleaning prior to adoption.   Molly does have heart disease and is currently taking medication and is doing great.

To meet and adopt Molly you must first complete an online adoption application. You can find our online form under ADOPT at HalfwayHounds.org or you can contact us at adopt@halfwayhounds.com or call 201-497-0364.
