Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Freckles is a delightful 5 year old beagle. She adores everyone and wants friends, friends, friends! She is happy to greet people on the street during walks and loves children. She gets so excited that it is hard for her to sit her bottom all the way down, but she does know "sit" and "wait". Perhaps the most difficult for her to learn was to potty outside. She lived the first 5 years of her life in a cage as a research beagle. Stepping out into grass was totally foreign to her but she caught on to walking in it quickly. Then she had to get the hang of doing her business outside. Truth be told, she will seek out the most non-grassy area that she can. But she will take care of business while leash walking which is important for folks without a fenced yard. When Freckles is outside, she will go sniff around. Then suddenly she will coming running to see me. The way she runs with her little front feet point out in front of her and her ears flying makes me chuckle. It makes me know how much she is loving her new freedom. Then she puts her paws on my leg to reach up for pets and squints her eyes closed in delight!
Freckles had a love thing going on for the neighbor's Husky and Lab boys. She would actually whine at the fence for them to come out and see her. When the boys were outside, they played kissy face through the fence. She had 3 more retired beagles come join her in her foster home. She helped showed them the ropes. You can see glimpses of her in the videos for Madison, Laura, and Nellie. Freckles is living with other small dogs and a few cats to keep her company. She really just wants to curl up on the sofa or chair and be in the same room as everyone. She is enjoying comfort!
