Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Diesel is an approximately 3 year old black male with natural ears. He is a really sweet, laid-back dog. He came to us from a shelter with little info, but he’s made a great impression on everyone who meets him. He greets anyone and everyone with a little wag, and leans as soon as you let him. His favorite thing is to wait until his people are seated, and then gently perch his rump on their lap. He has a stuffie which he carries everywhere, even using it as a pillow for sleeping, but he will let you have it without a grumble - he just gives you the sad eyes. His manners are a little rough, but he doesn’t jump up or push, and he is housebroken (aside from a little counter surfing). He's currently fostered with young Chihuahua, and he is great with him. He needs some major TLC weight-wise, and a bit of obedience training, but he will make a terrific family pet.
Update 12/15/11 - Diesel is gaining weight and feeling much better. His playful side is definitely emerging! He is learning that racing through the house is not always appropriate. He now has a favorite blanket, his favorite stuffie, and a pillow he likes to carry around, but he will share them upon request. He is terrific with kids. He now knows that getting on the furniture is a no-no (but will still put a paw up to test the waters), and his manners are improving. He does need continued work on obedience, particularly leash walking. Diesel is looking for a home with a nice yard where he can romp and play, and a family that will continue to work with him.
