Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Brit traveled to Maine from Missouri last summer. She was placed in a home but Britt need more than her adoptive mother can give.
Here is what her adoptive mom says about Britt.
Brit had lived with her brother, Skippy, all her life and I think she sorely misses him. Hopefully her forever family will have a canine companion for her. She'd love to have someone to play with. She's 5 years old, spayed, up-to-date on shots, microchipped and on heartworm preventative.
I have sent along 2 pictures of Miss Brit ~~ one of her in her favorite spot (the couch), and one outside with her new Gentle Leader chest halter. She really hated the Head Halti and this one seems to be working better for her. Brit still pulls some on the leash but is getting better. She could use obedience training. She's very smart, knows the "sit" command and if I point to her crate she'll go right in. She does love the wire crate.
She sleeps at night on the couch. When I'm gone during the day (4 hours at the most), Brit is in the crate. She seemed to panic in the house when I left, so that's when I realized she needed a crate.
Brit loves kids, adults, dogs and does well with cats. She get very excited when someone comes to the house so I put her in the crate until she calms down, then let her out to check out the newcomer, who she'll cover with dog kisses if allowed.
She has gained weight -- now at 50 lbs., so I'm cutting back on her food, much to her dismay. She's not real happy with just dry food, so she's been getting Iams Chunks with 2 tblsp. of Alpo canned mixed in. I think Brit probably had left-overs at her former home 'cause she's right on my heels when I head for the sink with my dish.
Miss Brit wants to ride in the car but gets very anxious -- constantly pacing back and forth, pants, paws at the window (which I open only slightly).
All in all, Miss Brit is a very loving, smart dog, somewhat insecure, who needs a home with another dog to play and exercise with. Because of my elbow and back problems, I'm just not up to the level of exercise needed.
I am currently in a foster home in Maine, if you would like to know more about me please contact Karra at Kjfolkner@ yahoo.com or visit our website at www.americanbrittanyrescue.org to learn more about me and all the other brittany's that are available for adoption.
