More About Me: Meet the puppies & Mom!!!!!! These adorable and tiny little bundles of joy have just entered rescue and mommy is soon to join. There are 3 males and 1 female.
Momma Lilly is a great Dachshund. She is friendly, loving, good with cats, housetrained, and has no problems with other dogs both big and small. She is on the calmer side and just a dream of a dog – she was a great mom to the pups and definitely had a demeanor you would want to share. The pups are absolutely adorable and have tons of personality. They are becoming more and more coordinated in their interactions and play. Each pup has a little different personality.
Linus is the red boy with a little dappling. He is sweet and playful. He loves people and enjoys tons of attention. He loves to be held, cuddled, and carried. He appears to be a little more needy, but also will stick up for himself without a problem.
Peppermint Patty is the red and white girl with a little dappling. You can tell she is the girl in her facial features. She is sweet and shy. She is cuddly and adorable, but is a little more reserved with people – not bad but she just hangs back a little more than the others.
Woodstock is the red and white boy with a little dappling. He is a great little guy and seems to be the one in the middle of the pack. He is all around in the middle so there is not one trait that sticks out as more dominant than the others. And then we have
Charlie Brown the blue dapple male. Charlie brown is the fire cracker of the bunch. He definitely is the most adventurous and is not afraid to try anything. He will take on the bigger dogs for play and like to bark at them to make sure they play with him. He is a little more into everything and raring to go.
The pups are doing incredible well with crate training and house training. They now go when they go outside to potty, but you have to take them out regularly. Make sure you do breed research – these pups are purebred Dachshund and due to that they have very fragile backs that need to be cared for properly. In most cases there are changes/modifications you will have to make to the house in order to keep their backs safe from injury – such as stairs for getting on furniture, beds, etc.
Puppies are a lot of work. They need someone home most of the day to take them out for potty on a regular schedule. They are fairly quiet at night, but would do good with one potty break in the middle of the night so they do not pee their crate. Please NO apartments. They need tons of socialization with people and dogs so they grow up to be great little social dogs. Make sure you are prepared for and able to provide socialization and training as they are young and need this in order to be the best dogs they can be. Apply now to meet the pups. History: The breeder became homeless and the pups had to leave ASAP a nice women rescued and cared for them for 5 weeks and then we were asked to step in and help with mom and 4 of the remaining pups - we were told it was an accidental litter between 2 unfixed Mini Dachshunds. NWIPR was asked to bring the pups and mom into rescue and find them great homes. We are so glad to have them join us in rescue.
NWIPR IS AN ALL VOLUNTEER REGISTERED NON-PROFIT 501c3 PUBLIC CHARITY
Your adoption donation is used to care for and vet the many dogs that enter into rescue from overcrowded shelters where their time is running out-ultimately they are on death row. Your adoption donation goes directly to the care of the many dogs that enter into rescue. All dogs leave rescue vaccinated, sterilized, microchipped, wormed, flea treated, and medically checked out. In some cases they receive dentals, ear flush, surgeries, and so on to ensure that they are healthy and ready to be adopted. Your adoption donation is very much appreciated and needed to help care for the many needy dogs that enter into rescue. New adopters receive a FREE exam coupon at a local veterinary clinic in Lynnwood OR a $30 care voucher to a veterinary chain (so be sure to ask about these coupons if you are interested). NOTE: Please do not email for more dog info. This is all the info available until approved application is received and then you can talk directly to that dog's foster home for further info. Thank you!
NWIPR's adoption process includes completion of an adoption application, a vet check, screening, in person meeting, a home visit and a lifetime adoption contract. NWIPR is the pet's advocate and will select the most suitably matched home for the dog's general and unique needs, therefore adoptions are not done on a first come first serve basis. We reserve the right to refuse service and adoption for any reason.
PLEASE NOTE: The information contained within this pet's biography is based on observations from the current foster home. NWIPR is very honest about the pet's behavior and needs (and provides up to date information), we cannot guarantee they will behave in the same manner in a different environment with new owners as individual household dynamics vary greatly.
CONSIDER FOSTERING A DOG
***Do you or someone you know have the desire to help a rescue dog? If you have a loving heart, dog experience, a safe and secure yard and the notion to make a difference, please consider fostering a rescue dog. There are MANY dogs that we just do not have room for and just one person can make a world of difference to a dog that needs a safe place to rest his or her weary paws.....***
