Meet Murphy, a happy Australian Shepherd who was surrendered to our rescue because he was always being picked on by another dog in the home. This little 2 year old black tri, who weighs around 50 pounds is getting some attention to his fear issues and resource guarding at this time. We feel this could be reaction from his previous home. With some attention to this and offering positive correction, we feel that he can overcome his past, and be a great addition to a home with another dog. If Murphy is the only guy, he is perfect.
Murphy is crate trained and is an excellent walker, he will sit patiently for you to get his leash, and then hook it so he can go for a walk. Murphy is fine on his walk when he meets people and other dogs and has great manners. Murphy will roll over on his back and give you his belly when he thinks he is in trouble, a veer submissive sign.
Murphy has met cats, but we are not sure of his disposition to them so cats are a question mark and needs to be considered if you have cats. Murphy likes toys and chew bones and while he is good with them, he is a little selfish at times. Again we are working on that.
Murphy knows commands and is very easy to teach more commands so he is very much a pleaser, and he is very velcro and will follow you everywhere. He also loves the car, he will sit quietly and look at the world as it passes him by.
Murphy is being fostered in the Chicago area and is available for adoption. If you are interested in this Australian Shepherd, a black tri, then complete an
