Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ella's been adopted! 12/4/11
Ella is a very loving & sweet 10-11 weeks old girl. She is a Shar Pei / Mastiff mix with a short tan coat. Ella enjoys playing & running outside either with us or the other pups at Camp. She's quite happy to find a dog bed & collect toys to keep her entertained. Either a dog bed or rug will do as her play spot, and from here Ella will roll and chew and bark at her toys or even at us. Her look of accomplishment and pride is so sweet as she sits in the midst of her treasures.
While unattended, we keep her in her kennel. Currently, Ella will go hang out under the sofa or under the bed if she's not which we don't want to encourage; it will undo the socialization routine we have going for her. I typically will leash her and she walks around the house with me, doing chores or sitting at the computer. Otherwise, the kennel/crate acts as a safe spot in addition to her bedroom!
We started leash-training her immediately being that she wasn't used to human interaction. She needs a home with a fully-fenced yard for playing & pottying, yet Ella will enjoy having an owner that likes to take leash walks, too. She's not got leash walking mastered, but she's well on her way!
Now that she's been with us for a few weeks--she arrived on Nov 6th--Ella is so much more social & loving. Ella eagerly awaits to be rubbed on when she's lying next to us. It took a little extra time for her to become comfortable with us, but she has been worth the wait. The extra time and work just means the bond with her will be that much closer.
If you're looking for a loving little girl who enjoys belly rubs, giving kisses, & snuggling against your leg for tv time, please consider Ella! She is current on her vaccinations (which are given based on her age) & will continue to stay current until she's completed all rounds. Ella will be spayed & receive her rabies shot once she is old enough (about 4-6 weeks). She can be adopted prior to being spayed, however her adopter will be required to give a second check as a $50 refundable deposit ensuring she gets spayed.
Our little girl checked into Camp Nov 6th after being trapped along with her siblings and mother off Dickerson Rd. The mother, a medium-sized Shar Pei, had been abandoned by her family & has lived on the streets for over a year. The father, a medium-large-sized Black Mastiff with floppy jowls, is someone's dog who allows him to roam at large.

Adoption fee is $90. Thank you for wanting to share your home with one of our rescued pups!
If you are a parent adopting for your children, please remember we do pick the best home for our pups. If there are 2 applications that come in at the same time, for example, and one will be a better fit, that is the one we choose. Many parents pump up their children about getting a specific puppy, and it can be very sad for the child if the particular puppy isn't a good fit unbeknownst to them. We put this disclaimer here because a couple of parents have been upset when a home that used doggy daycare & had a fenced in yard was chosen over crate-all-day without a backyard. Peace.
