My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Diesel is a handsome German Shepherd + Rottie mix who loves to play and spend time with his human companions. He is a sweet boy with a goofy side to his personality which makes him quite endearing to all who meet him! Diesel gets along well with his dog buddies and has not had an opportunity to play or interact with those of the feline persuasion.

Diesel is being re-homed after a child in the family startled him while he was sleeping and a bite occurred. Diesel was evaluated by Susan Kevin of Island Dog Training and she reports that the isolated incident was out of character for Diesel and describes him as, “a relaxed, friendly dog” and “a very social friendly dog”. She further reports he would do well in multi-dog household. Susan’s full evaluation is available for review of anyone interested in reading it.

Diesel was diagnosed with a possible neurological issue that affects his back leg. The doctor reports, “We think he has type II disc disease--mild, chronic pressure in the spine, causing numbness by the foot." Medical evaluation show no hip dysplasia or skeletal issues. The owner reports that Diesel is mobile and can walk up and down stairs, but cannot walk or run long distances.

Diesel is a smart young man who knows “sit”, “come”, and “wait”. He is potty trained and travels well in the car. He was born approximately May 2005 and weighs 85#. He is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccines.
