My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Angel is a 7-year old, smooth red mini-tweenie sized dachshund. She weighs 18 lbs and is successfully losing her excess weight in her foster home.

Angel is a very, very sweet, laid back, and affectionate dog. She loves to be right by your side getting pets, scratches, and belly rubs. She seems good with other dogs, cats, people, and children. Younger children may not understand that she should be handled gently and be picked up carefully.

All Angel really wants in life is to be a central part of your life. She will shower you with her affection and kisses. If Angel is not following her people around or cuddling on the couch, she can usually be found relaxing in her dog bed. She likes to burrow under the covers to make herself cozy. She is getting along well with another dachshund in her foster home. Angel has started to enjoy playing with the resident dachshund in the house which has been fun to watch. She also gets along well with cats. Angel does seem to enjoy her afternoon walks and she enjoys her rides in the car. She does need to go outside regularly to minimize accidents in the house.

Angel is sweet little dog that will be a wonderful companion. She will need consistency in her diet and exercise plan so that she can get closer to a healthier goal weight. She seems to be potty trained with good housebreaking skills. She is a very quiet dog, not at all a barker.

Angel is up to date on her vaccinations and is NEGATIVE for heartworm and Lyme Disease. She does have hypothyroidism, which might be a factor in her excessive weight. The good news is that she is responding well to her treatment and she started losing the excess weight, improved her skin/coat and gaining energy. She will most likely require lifelong medications, but they are inexpensive, only costing $6.00 per month.

Angel's adoption fee is $225.
