My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 01/27/2012: Fargo has developed into a super sweet young doggie. His house trainning is going great. He and his play buddy, Kuddy, are always together wrestling as fun loving pups do. Fargo must have been a WalMart greeter in his last life. It doesn't matter if you’re coming home or coming out of a room, he is so happy to see you. He has a permanent limp from the car hitting him. Some days he will limp more than others, but he never complains. He is not fussy about anything. He is still a toy hoarder. He will take them all and stashes them all over. He would be great with dogs that don't care for toys. He is ready to find his forever family.

UPDATED BIO 12/07/2011: Foster Mom reports that sweet Fargo was getting very depressed from having to be confined to her bedroom – the confinement was to keep him from over-extending his legs. Fargo wouldn’t eat last Friday, so on the weekend he was kept him out with his foster parents and his foster brothers and sisters. His surgeon said that he will be in a splint for an extended time. This little stinker appears to be a toy hoarder, maybe because he’s afraid they will be taken away from him – poor little guy! He is also a bit on the food-aggressive side, so he has his own private dining area because he eats fast, and then will try to take other doggies’ food.

Fargo desperately needs some individual one-on-one attention. FM says he would love to have a bath, but because of his sutures & splint, he’s not allowed to have one yet. Foster Mom took him out in a doggie stroller so he could see the world, which he really enjoyed. When he saw the neighborhood ducks, he really wanted to run and do the yorkie chase. This poor guy is sooooo bored, and it will be wonderful when he can be mobile again. He watches Animal Planet all day to keep him occupied. Fargo gives great kisses and cuddles - so sweet. Please keep this sweet guy in your thoughts and prayers that his recovery will be complete and he will soon be running and loving life again.

UPDATED BIO 11/09/2011: Fargo was not operated on until last night because the vet wanted to get further radiographs since Fargo was not walking at all, and his shoulder was very swollen - the shoulder on the shoulder on the OTHER side as the leg fractures. After taking further radiographs, it was determined that Fargo had a fracture of this shoulder - Dr. Roy feels that this fracture will heal well on its own without surgical intervention. This is why Fargo was reluctant to put any weight on his front legs - poor little guy. In addition to a dislocated elbow, he also suffered a fracture of his elbow, and this was surgically corrected. Dr. Roy said that his elbow was pretty banged-up and he had a lot of damage there. In addition to his elbow, his wrist also had a small fracture, which he feels will also heal on its own. Fargo was also neutered at the same time - bless his heart - hurting from head to ....um....rear.

Fargo is now sporting a splinted bandage from his toes of his left leg all the way up and around his chest to support the surgical site and the other fractures; this will either be changed or removed in approximately 3 weeks. Fargo will most likely need to have physical therapy after he is healed. Please consider donating to Fargo's vetting expenses. Thank Goodness we were able to save his leg, but his expenses are adding up. Fargo sends his doggie licks & tail wags - that's his way of thanking everyone for helping pay his vet bill.
