Lucky Henry is a cute, super sweet little male Chi who has been through a lot in his short life (less than 2 yr old). He and two sisters were abandoned at a construction site and ended up in the shelter. From his ordeal of being left outside, flies bit his ears raw, but the hair has begun growing back in and they look better each day.
“He is a really sweet little guy who just wants to love and to be loved. In the 2 months he’s been with us, he has gone from a shy timid little dog to a much happier tail-wagging playmate to his foster sis. He is still a bit shy around men, but only on approach. He goes on his own to cuddle in my husband’s lap, no problem. He’s very smart and wants to please. Sometimes, he has a tendency to “freeze up” until he figures out what you are asking him to do. I don’t think there is a mean bone in his body. He doesn’t growl, bite or nip, just a sweet love bug who loves to be close to you.” ~his foster mom.
Lucky has been neutered and is up to date on all his shots. He is very loving but does have some initial shyness. He has not shown any separation anxiety and is not destructive while we have been out for short periods. He is getting better every day! He is potty trained to go outside and also wee-wee pad trained. So far, he likes other dogs and we’re not sure about cats.
Lucky is doing great in his foster home with another Chihuahua and a Boston Terrier. He loves playing outside with the other dogs and all the toys they have. He enjoys hanging out in the sun and loves being a member of the family. He has no issues with handling his paws and ears (or any other part of his anatomy for that matter), so nail clipping and teeth brushing are an easy task.
He rides in the car seat for his trips to the vet and has done great. He is fine with getting baths and is a beautiful little guy. He will need some more gentle coaxing to go on walks, but he should do fine in time. The world was a scary place for this guy at one time! Once he learns to trust you, you will have a forever loyal furry little friend.
