Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Goldie came to us out of the shelter in Philadelphia. Unfortunately she also came to us very ill with a severe upper respiratory infection. However, after a month and lots of TLC, Goldie is all fixed up and good as new. She has her appetite back and interacts more with the other foster dogs. But while she is more social now that she is healthy again, Goldie is an aloof dog who would rather keep to herself. he would rather sit quietly by herself in a corner rather than engage in the more rambunctious play. She is about 5 years old and weighs about 40 pounds. She is now totally vetted, including her shots, spay and a microchip. Goldie can be a bit nippy when she wants to show her displeasure so we will not consider any homes with kids unless they are at least teenagers. She needs a more quiet and sedate environment. In fact, we would prefer to see her go to a home with only 1 or 2 people where she will get to enjoy the peace & quiet she craves. She loves being outdoors and would be a great hiking or other outdoor activity companion. This is a dog who is happiest having a 'job' or enough exercise to keep her busy & tired. She is not fond of strangers and instead would prefer to curl up on the couch after her daily exercise with her person. She bonds tightly and fast and will be a loving and loyal dog to the right person. This is a breed that you rarely find in rescue. And while she does need a specific type of home, she will be a great pet when we find that special person.
