Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Pickles and I'm looking for a lap to rest my head on.
I was rescued from a puppy mill in January 2011, right before the temperatures dropped below zero and the big blizzard came. I was sure grateful to be inside instead of in that tiny outdoor run with just a wooden box for shelter!
I'm a BIG and solid girl, almost 90 lbs. I'm about 4 years old, well-mannered and a social butterfly. I love meeting people and being petted. I missed out on that at the mill and I'm making up for lost time! I'd really love to cuddle on the couch with you, or the floor, or your favorite chair... I'm cratetrained and almost completely housetrained. After 4 years in the dirt and mud, I'm a girl who can truly appreciate the luxury of a soft bed and a climate controled house!
I've been good with other large dogs that I've been carefully introduced to. I'm pretty indifferent to them and I'd rather be with people. I have chased a few small dogs (that were running in front of me) but once I realized they were DOGS and not cats or other little critters they were free to go. I really like to chase little critters and for a girl my size I can really move!
I have a really calm and easy-going temperament and I've been okay with children over 5.
Do you have space for me in your living room?
-Pickles
Pickles is spayed, fully vaccinated (including bordetella and canine influenza), microchipped, de-wormed, fecal checked negative, heartworm tested negative, kept on monthly heartworm prevention and given seasonal flea/tick prevention.
Her adoption fee is 250.
Pickles is available in the Kansas City and surrounding areas of NW Missouri and Eastern Kansas. A securely fenced yard is required or an approved alternative for safe outdoor time. If you do not have a fence, please outline your plan for outdoor time in your initial email.
