Pissa is a beautiful young GS, about less than a year old looking at his sparkling white teeth and his all black muzzle. You would not think so when you first meet him as he is on the large size, a bit skinny, but still around 80 lbs. He should definitely could use some more weight
Pissa was abandoned at Animal Control by his owner because he barks too much. That was the reason the man gave to the Animal Control officer. While the Animal Control Officer was busy trying to secure the dog in the kennel the man took off so he couldn't be asked any more questions. Great owner!!
Pissa didn't want to get in the kennel because he was scared of the new surroundings and the only person he knew was not there to ease his fears.
When the Animal Control Officer finally got him in, the poor boy just crawled into a corner shaking and for couple of hours he didn't want anything.
Pissa is very shy in the beginning and it took us a long time to make him come and get his treat from our hand. It took us even longer to get him out of the kennel but once out he warmed up to us and slowly he let us touch him. He is very needy and he likes human attention. He seems to be scared or confused of the presence of the other dogs in his foster home so we didn't introduce him to other dogs yet. As for cats he is fascinated by them but maybe not in a good way. He is very quiet when inside, he barks sometimes at the neighbors but he is far from being a habitual barker. He is house trained and he listens to no, sit, and he doesn't try to jump on you. He likes to play but if you do not encourge him he will not bother you. This sweet boy would make a great companion for the right people.
Pissa will be neutered and up to date on vaccinations prior to adoption. If you are interested in giving Pissa the loving home he so desperately needs, please fill out an adoption application by clicking on our adoption application below.

The adoption process requires that you first fill out an application. While the application does not commit you to adopting a particular pet, it does allow us to learn more about you and to match you with the particular pet you are interested in. Once we call your references, we do a home visit where we bring the dog/cat so you can meet them and see how they would fit within your household. There is an adoption fee for Pissa of $250. This covers all her age-appropriate shots and vetting. We also give you a breakdown of future shots that the pet will need.
If you would like to make a donation to help us rescue more animals please make your check payable to New Hope Pet Rescue. All donations go directly to the care of the animals, we are strictly a volunteer based group. Thank you for helping us save as many lives as we can.
