My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Max. Max's pictures are of a 1 yr old purebred Maltese who wasn't properly groomed. This breed as well as some others are very high maintenance and require daily brushing to keep them looking beautiful. Max was bought from a breeder as a very young puppy. He was surrendered today (10/26) because he is in such terrible shape. The owner never brushed this little boy and his urine soaked coat was a solid mass of matts. Instead of bringing this little boy home he was taken directly to grooming where they will have to shave his entire body. Because of the matting he will most likely have skin burns but once he can walk freely again he will feel so much better. Max is a tiny little man who probably wieghs 4 lbs but looks like he needs to gain another pound.

Not much is know about his personality yet but updates will come. He was frightened and looked very, very sad but he did not protest in the least when we were checking out his condition. Because his owner worked long hours I think Max spent a lot of time in a crate and wasn't socialized very much. Once he gets home and finds out that he is safe and loved I'm sure he will turn from the sad little doggie to a happy, outgoing little guy.

Max is up to date on shots until Dec 23. Before going to his new home he will also be neutered and heartworm tested.
