Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hercules (male) ADOPTION FEE $100 – GREAT PYRENEES
Hey, ya’ll! Names’ Hercules! I’m a huge sweet Great Pyrenees with a big ole’ heart. It’s likely that I am a pure-bred because I do have the Great Pyrenees characteristic of six toes on my hind paws. I wandered up to a lady’s house and well, decided I’d go ahead and stay. She’s got a lot of other dogs and plenty of food to boot... so, what the heck?! They say the way to a man’s heart is through his belly. Is that also why they say we’re man’s best friend?!... ‘cause you know, the way to a doggie’s heart is DEFINITELY through his belly!! I appear to be 1-2 years old based upon my teeth. I’ll be heartworm tested soon, neutered, and brought UTD on shots. My new lady friend thinks I’ve probably always lived outside... but I know in the right home, I could learn to live indoors and be housetrained. I get along great with other dogs and don’t meet a human stranger. When I was brought to Pet Savers for pictures, I greeted the lady there like I’d known her all my life, but I didn’t jump on her... I just walked up and let her pet me. I travel well, and waited patiently in the car while my rescuer went and got someone to help her. I walk well on a leash too. I tend to want to lie down when approached... so, it’s possible wherever I lived before I was trained to be submissive I’m probably about 120 pounds (or more)... so, I eat a lot. Ideally, I need a home with mature adults who understand that I’m big, I’ll need some training, and some patience to acclimate to a new setting. I need a home where the owner is not gone all the time, but who can spend time with me. I need a financially stable family who is settled with no plans to “move”, “all of sudden become allergic”, “have a baby”, “decide they don’t have time for me anymore”, decide I’m “too big, too fat, too furry, too slobbery”... etc., etc., etc. In other words, a family who understands commitment and that I’m a living, breathing creature... not your show-piece when it’s convenient for you. Get it? Got it? Good! My adoption fee is $100. I AM NOT AT PET SAVERS' SHELTER, but being fostered until I find a home. If you're approved to adopt me, Pet Savers will arrange for you to meet me. If you’d like to apply to be approved to adopt me, please e-mail petsavers@petsaversshreveport.org for an adoption application. Applying to adopt me, does NOT commit you to the adoption until you meet me. Please note: If you’re not approved, you do have other options to adopt to include your local animal control (kill shelter) where you will likely save a life… or click on “Dogs not in shelter” on our website. Thank you for looking! Woof Woof!
