Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet The Boss!
Sadly enough, our economy took its toll on his family and he was turned into rescue.
He is a 5 year old, black, purebred Newfoundland who runs and plays like a 2 year old.
Boss weighs in at 120lbs of snuggle but because of his size he would be able to accidently knock youngsters over.
Boss was recently neutered, fully vetted and is recovering well. Boss has not had any formal obedience training but knows "sit, down, stay, and no". He gets along great with other dogs, gentle with cats and loves all two legged creatures. He is completely housebroken. He will need continued work on obedience but responds wonderfully to both treats and praise.
Boss is a happy, healthy, smiley guy who is ready for a forever home.
Update from foster home - Boss's coat continues to get thicker and softer. His favorite toy is tugs and will play tug with other dogs or humans for as long as they will play. He is a great passenger and really enjoys car rides. He has gotten along famously with every dog he has met, currently also lives with a parrot and only expresses curiosity. He hasn't met a stranger, as they say, and also loves to meet new people.
He does try to live up to his name; does a little dance and chatters when asked to do something that isn't fitting into his immediate schedule but he is highly motivated by treats. He does not get on furniture, is good with free roam and his housebroken. He has a very expressive face; we call it "the many faces of Boss" his mood is never in question.
Boss is going to make somebody very happy for many years to come!
Boss is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and current on heartworm medication.
Our adoption fee is $250.00. A fenced yard with a minimum height of 4-feet is required for adoption.
If you plan on submitting an application and you are out of our region, once your application is approved we require that you come to our area to meet the dog and foster family. If that goes well you will be able to take your Newfie home with you.
