Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you are looking for a beautiful, calm, loving, loyal, mature and wise friend and family member, Wynn may be your gal! Wynn is a gorgeous 8 year-old female tri-color Border Collie rescued after spending 4 months in a crazy busy, big city shelter. Due to her winning ways and forgiving personality she bears no ill feelings, or emotional scars from her months spent there. Wynn is an incredibly kind dog and enjoys everyone. She is very respectful and does not throw herself at strangers, but calmly goes to them and waits for a cue from them before she asks for an ear scratch or belly rub. If they can resist her sweet personality – and few can - she just goes on her merry way with no hard feelings, but if they give her just a bit of encouragement, she is putty in their hands!
Wynn has quickly adapted to life in her foster home with the resident dogs, cats and horses. She is playful with people and good with dogs, but so far we have not seen her initiate play with other dogs. She is happy to join them in a game of Frisbee or soccer, but definitely prefers to play with her human friends more than her dog friends. She is good with dog savvy cats, but is certainly not above a good game of chase should the cat decide to run! She has shown a bit of an interest in herding the cats horses, but can be called off. She lives with two female Border Collies and one male and does well with all of them.
Wynn loves attention, but does not demand it. Every pat, belly rub, ear scratch and kind word is a bonus in her life! If, her people are involved in something else she will calmly lie down and wait for them to notice her. She is amazing with children and is all smiles and waggles when they are around. She lets them pet her, hug her, brush her, and if inadvertently they poke her in the eye or nose, or tug at her ears she calmly endures it. She adores them! Her manners and charm and hard to resist!
She does not appear to have had a lot of formal training, but is quickly learning the basics. She has already learned “sit”, “down”, “leave it”, “wait” and “stay”. Her recall is good, but needs a bit more refinement. She always comes – eventually, and is getting better every day and with every treat and kind word offered! Wynn is crate trained, though really does not need to be in a crate. She is trustworthy in the house. It does not appear that she has spent a lot of time in a house and still has an occasional accident. She is really trying to learn the rules. She loves to please which makes her a pleasure to work with and to just be with!
A good daily walk and a romp with a Frisbee or soccer ball in the back yard will meet Wynn’s need for activity and stimulation. She enjoys the water and will fetch a ball thrown into a lake/canal for hours! She is able and willing to be moderately active, but also very willing to chill and enjoy the sunshine! She is just an all-around incredibly easy going, kind, and loving dog. She deserves a home that will appreciate her goodness. She will give unlimited and unconditional joy and love to the happy soul that is lucky enough to get her!
Wynn is being fostered near Salt Lake City, UT.
