Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello. My name is Sparrow and I've had a rough year so far. Some kind folks rescued me from my wanderings in a local park and placed me in a nice foster home. I was sunburned, underweight, very scared and I had sores on the bottom of my feet. In May, I was adopted. Time went by and they decided they could not care for me and gave me to someone else. They then didn't want me and dropped me off at a shelter. I'm back in foster care and ready to do this again, this time for my best, last home!
Sparrow is a fabulous, loving little boy. He is neutered and UTD on his vaccinations. He is just a touch underweight and has a few blemishes, probably due to less than ideal care during his bouncing around this summer. Sparrow is reliable with potty pads and is working on outdoor potties. He is leash-trained and crate-trained, although his preference is to be with his people. He is in great health and has adjusted very well to his foster home which he shares with two dogs, a cat, and no children. Despite all this little boy has gone through, he couldn't be any more loving. He definitely craves attention and appreciates all the love he gets. Sparrow enjoys being held and loves to cuddle. He can be a little protective when it comes to attention, becoming a bit anxious and snappy if he has to compete for attention. He socializes well with other dogs, although he can be a bit assertive at the initial greeting. Sparrow does not do well with children. He likes to go bye-bye and rides very well in a vehicle.
Sparrow's ideal home would be with a single or couple with one or two dog/cat buddies, and no small children.
Sparrow is being fostered in SW Virginia. Our adoption process involves an application with vet and personal references, a phone conversation, a home visit and an adoption contract. Sparrow's adoption fee is $275. Please email us with questions and/or to request an application.
