Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sawyer, a Husky mix, is still needing that awesome home. He is a mystery in so many ways and has been a hard boy to figure out, but a true joy and such an amazing spirit. He is really wanting someone to love him, however had this need to be independent for so long it was hard for him to adjust. We were unable to allow him off leash and hang out with our pack for a very long time. He would run off for hours and all we could do is follow and wait him out. There would be no catching him. Although he would not bolt, he knew getting caught meant going back to the fenced yard and he would make sure he made it worth his while. Tossing steak and bacon was no match, we would just have to wait. For this reason, he has spent much time alone in his own yard watching the other kids on the acreage. Even though we always felt so bad for him, it was for his own good as well as the group.
Sawyer was originally found near Falcon Lake where they were unfortunately out to eradicate a pack of dogs which were chasing deer. Sawyer went and sat by the ranger, thus his life was spared. He has been here off and on for a couple of years and we still have not found the right home. Sawyer was adopted twice to people in the city and we had to pick him up from the Humane Society as he did bolt on them. Sawyer has just matured in so many ways. He has decided he likes hanging out with our pack and wants to be part of the group. He now is coming for off leash walks, laying on the deck or laying at our side for some extra loving. He really does need a country home with a large fenced yard, lots of love and someone who can appreciate his independent spirit. He LOVES being outside no matter what the temperature. He love to play and go for long walks. He appreciates being invited in the bed and likes gentle snuggles. He is of course healthy, neutered, completely vaccinated and micro-chipped.
