My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update 9/27/11: Introducing our newest rescue, Charlotte!

Charlotte is a 3 year old, 20 lb Terrier-mix that our volunteers saved. She was in a high-kill pound.

Charlotte enchants everyone she meets with her shaggy smile and friendly attitude. She loves people and isn't afraid to show it! She hasn't been tested with kids yet, but we're pretty sure she'll do just fine with them.

Charlotte is currently residing in a foster home until someone chooses to come along and adopt her. Her foster mom describes Charlotte as being "laid back, but also playful". Charlotte gets along great with the other dogs in her foster home too. She's also great in the car, pretty good on a leash, housebroken and just an all around great dog!

Interested in meeting and possibly adopting this cute lap dog? Fill-out an online adoption application via www.sadiemaefoundation.org. $300 adoption donation, reference check and home visit are required prior to adoption.

While in the care of the Sadie Mae Foundation, all animals are fully vaccinated, heart worm tested and spayed or neutered. Other medical treatments may be provided to our animals, depending upon their specific needs.

Info. about Sadie Mae Foundation's adoption process
Please note that we do not ship animals or do same-day adoptions. Additionally, we ordinarily limit adoptions to homes within CT or no more than an hour or so drive from Hartford, CT in order to be able to conduct a home visit and provide follow-up assistance when necessary. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis.

We try to make our adoption process as easy and painless as possible, but please understand where we are coming from and all of the work that goes into rescuing and rehoming homeless animals. We don't want them to go through this again. Visit www.sadiemaefoundation.org to learn about the adoption process in detail.
