My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Avery is a gorgeous, 3 year old, pocket pitty mix. As you can see from her pictures, she simply can't stop smiling - she is always upbeat and happy. She's only about 40 pounds and is as sweet, loving, and well-behaved as dogs come. New Leash rescued her from Animal Care and Control in September after a glowing recommendation of her temperament and sociability with canines and humans alike. Her reputation only continues to improve: she hasn't met a dog or person she doesn't like, and loves laying in the sunshine and getting TLC. She is very athletic and would be a great fit for an active owner, but she calms down nicely and is a great size for city dwellers.


Despite her past experiences, Avery seems completely unphased and is a dainty, demure little lady. She waits politely for walks, and she will even return to her crate, without prompting, and lay nicely with her front paws crossed when she returns. Ladylike in every way, she loves being petted (she thinks it keeps her fur glossy) and she wants to be around people more than anything.
But her most unique feature are her bunny-like ears that are constantly moving around to show her emotions.
