Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UPDATED BIO 9/23/11: Hello, My name is Marley and I am a 9 pound 9 month old
Silky Terrier. I was surrendered to a high kill facility for what my
owner called "behavior Issues." I have now been at my Foster Mom's
home for one week and she says that my only behavioral issue is that I
AM A PUPPY, and I DO PUPPY THINGS. Yes I like to chew stuff, but I
love my nylabones and rubber toys. If taking the cover off a tennis
ball is a behavioral issue then I guess I have it. I always go on a
wee wee pad except sometimes when FM goes out I get scared and sneak
into the corner of her bedroom and leave a little present for her. As
I stay here longer it is happening less and less. I came here afraid
of everything and everyone including the dogs in the house.
Today, after one week, I play with the other foster yorkie in the
house. I sometimes play rough but so does she, and she lets me know
when to stop. I eat every meal and don't try to eat any other dog's
food. My FM thinks I am very smart. I like to go out for walks now
and walk very well on a leash for a dog that was afraid to go outside
a week ago. I do like to have my FM's undivided attention but she is
teaching me that it is not always possible to sit on her lap and have
her to myself. I bark very loud if I am afraid of anything, like when
FM uses her printer in another room and the noise of the paper coming
out gets my attention. Next week my FM is going to take me for some
training so she can learn to use a clicker and train all the dogs who
come here in the future especially puppies. I don't care if there is
another dog in the house or if I am the only one. I just want you to
throw toys for me. I will bring them back and put them up so you can
try to get them. If you can, I want you to throw it again and again.
I like to potty outside now but since I am a puppy I still use the wee
wee pad in the house. My FM loves that because it rains a lot this
time of year, and nobody likes to go out in the rain - even her! I
hope someone who reads my profile will adopt me and give me a good
loving forever home so I can grow up with one family. I do like
children because whenever there is a new foster dog here she brings
her 8 year old granddaughter here to stay for 2 days so she can test
us out. I probably should be with an older person that is at least 12
because puppies sometimes nip when they play and a little older child
will understand more how to treat me.
Thanks for reading about me! Would you like to take me home? I'm ready to go!
INITIAL BIO 09/07/2011: Hi, My name is Marley and I am a 9 month old
8.5 pound Silky terrier who was surrendered to a high kill shelter
because my owner said I have behavior problems. I just got to my new
foster home last night and I will tell you what my FM knows about me
in less than 24 hours. I use a wee wee pad to do all my business. I
am very much afraid of other dogs. I hide under the bed when they
want to sniff me. My FM hopes that being around 2 friendly dogs will
help me come out and play. I do not walk on a leash and do not like
to go outside. Last night I ate kibble but my FM had to sit on the
floor with me and I ate mostly from her hand because I was so afraid
of the other dogs who were eating. As you can see from my picture (I
think) I like kids and this little girl is 8 years old and comes to
help my FM find out these things with all her foster dogs. My FM's
son came to bring his daughter over and I just loved him. I do jump
up and FM says it will stop. Maybe my behavior problems are because
nobody bothered to tell me what I am supposed to do and not supposed
to do. She said she will update my bio after a week and I "start to
show my true colors". Right now she says I am perfect except I am
petrified of the other dogs. Last night I was so scared that when
everyone went to sleep I slept alone on the floor behind the bathroom
door. I am learning that people are nice because today I sat at FM's
feet all day and let her pick me up whenever she wanted to. Oh, and
last night when she brought me home she gave me a bath in the bathtub
and I just stood there like a good boy while she did it. I did fight
a little when she cleaned my ears but maybe they are sore so she put
medicine in them. I didn't like that part. She says I am a good boy
and will be adopted soon to some very very lucky people. I am a bit
of a whiner but I think that's what I have always done to get my way.
FM says she is going to fix everything.
