Meet Oscar, otherwise known as Ferdinand, is the gentlest pit bull mix we have ever met. He is an 8 month old pup and is about 50 pounds. He is quite the ham. Likes to body surf down the stairs and eat everything in sight. He needs to be redirected with what to chew on and will benefit from regular doggie day care and socialization and obedience classes.
**UPDATE*** 9/3/11 --- He is about 8 months old now, and he is a sweet, energetic, friendly, cuddly boy. He has been doing a lot of training recently and he is getting good with his commands. He walks well on a leash, loves his crate, and is fully potty trained. He also gets along well with other dogs of all sizes.
He would love nothing more than sitting in your lap, riding in the car, playing with dogs, nuzzling kids and being extra friendly to all people.
Give him some love, chew toys, friends, and a family and Oscar can be a breed ambassador!
He loves all dogs and all people. For some reason, he seems to know his size around children. He likes kids a lot and he does not jump up unless he is at daycare and is truly excited. Oscar would be a great family dog for that reason.
Oscar definitely needs continued socialization and obedience classes. With work, he will be a great dog. We have done a lot of work to potty train him and he is good with that now. He loves wrestling and does pretty well with small dogs. He has NO food aggression or toy aggression. He is sometimes happily clueless. He is great on a leash, but will pull and bark to play at other dogs. He is redirected easily with treats though.
He knows sit, down, pillow and knows to wait for his Kong on his pillow. He can roll over (from time to time).
Oscar is a cute dopey, (watch his morning video) uncoordinated 8 month old pup who is a great dog, but he needs a committed owner with a lot of time to spend being patient and training. Food rewards are great. Always keep milk bones on hand.
The only thing Oscar doesn't like is fireworks- o man he doesn't like fireworks! He doesn't even mind the vacuum cleaner! What a dream dog! And look at those beautiful green eyes!

Oscar's adoption fee is $200. He comes neutered, microchipped, UTD on vaccines, dewormed, flea meds, collar, leash, and a small bag of puppy food.
