My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chester: 3 -4 yrs old, English Cream Longhair

We got a call from a frazzled rescue coordinator just as a holiday weekend was starting. She was trying to get 40 dogs out of her shelter before 5 pm the next afternoon or they would all be PTS. She called us about a pair of doxies that per her notes were smooth reds, ages 6 and 8.

We instantly got to work and found a foster home for the younger female but not for the older male. However, we couldn't leave him behind, so we decided to grease up the foster dogs in our main foster home so we could squeeze another one in. Imagine our surprise when the 8 yr old red turned out to be a young longhair.!

Chester is a delightful dog. He has never met a stranger, no matter where he goes. After a few minutes of shyness, everyone is a friend that needs to pay attention to him and play with him immediately, whether it's people or other dogs.

Chester’s very high energy, so he needs a home that will walk him and hold a firm line with him, otherwise he'll wind up running the house. He would benefit from having a canine sibling since he doesn't like to be left alone.

Chester is now reluctantly crate trained. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. It appears Chester has had his coat trimmed but he also might just be a "short" long hair.
