My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Update 7/21/12:

There's an unfortunate update for little Kinney. He was coughing quite a bit and the vet diagnosed him as having an enlarged heart and CHF. With proper medication he'll do well for a long time, but now he's got to be considered "special needs." It's likely he'll be with us for life, and we'd really appreciate donations towards his medications. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi! I'm Kinney. Don't know where I got that name from, but I kind of like it. Ya know - like Liza with a "Z", I'm Kinney with an "I". Ok, corny, corny. Another thing I don't know is my age. The shelter that had me posted me as a "young" Pekingese. But when my foster folks came to get me and looked at my paperwork when we got home, it said that they thought I was 10 years old! That may be young for a human child, but not so very for me. Personally, I think it was a mistake. I don't feel like a senior. I don't look like a senior. Yes, I did lose some vision because my eyes weren't taken care of in my old life. I have dry eye and no one ever put in the drops I needed to keep my vision good. But that can happen to anyone - it doesn't mean that I'm old. Would an oldster love to play with toys? Would an oldster love to play with other dogs (well, I kind of run into them when I try to play because I don't quite see close up so good, but I do try!)?

So what if I don't see very well with my eyes - I see great with my heart! I love being cuddled and held. I love to sleep on the bed. I will follow you anywhere just by your voice. And I learned very quickly where the door is to go outside when I need to. My foster folks say that I'm just a pleasant little boy that needs a lap to call my own!

I'm being fostered in Emmaus, PA and my asking adoption fee is $125.

Please read about adopting from us on our home page by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.

NOTE: Due to the volatile price of gas, getting multiple volunteers to help with long distance transporting is no longer feasible. We have listed the town and state where each dog is being fostered. Please consider how far you are willing to travel when filling out the application. The foster home will usually volunteer to help with transport for a reasonable distance.
