If you’re looking for an unusual dog who will shower you with affection when you come home from work and curl up in bed with you every night, look no further than Brace.
Brace is a Catahoula Leopard Dog/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, and try as you might, we challenge you to find another dog like him. Instead of a traditional brindle pattern, Brace is covered in gorgeous swirls with beige and silver thrown into the mix.
On top of his unusual coloring, he has the Rhodesian Ridgeback “cow lick” all along his spine. Put it all altogether, and you have a very unique puppy who will get compliments everywhere he goes.

But looks aren’t the only great thing about Brace. He loves, and we do mean LOVES, people. From the moment we picked him up at the Trumbull County Dog Pound, we has been glued to our side. On the trip over, he sat in the back seat, nose pressed against the driver’s elbow, and he leapt out of the car when we arrived at New Lease on Life, eager to meet everyone.
Brace is only 3 months old, but he’s already a big boy, and we’re expecting him to be a very big boy when he’s all grown up. Potential adopters should plan on at least an 80–pound dog as an adult.
Brace is partially housebroken and working on leash training, but you should expect a few accidents in the beginning as he finishes his training.
Brace is already neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and flea treated, so he’s ready to join your family. You can meet him at the shelter any time during adoption hours, Thursday through Sunday 5 to 8pm, or call 330–397–8270 to schedule an appt to meet him at another time or on another day.

ABOUT BRACE’S BREEDS
Both Catahoulas and Rhodesian Ridgebacks are known for their intelligence and loyalty. They are also working dogs who need regular exercise, so they’re best suited for active families. Both breeds are great with children and view kids as part of their pack.
