Hello new friends!!! Thanks for stopping by and visiting my page!
My name is Austin and I am a 6 week old Chipin which is short for a Chihuahua / Min Pin Mix. My mommy (a min pin) was found as a stray by some kind people who took her into their house. Unfortunately they didn't know that my momma wasn't spayed and their un-neutered male Chihuahua got a little frisky...a few months later - here I am!
I was born in my foster parents home and just recently started to be weaned from my mom. The first night was a bit scary - but I'm adjusting well now. My foster parents give me lots of love and attention, super fun toys to play with and they are starting to try to get me to eat this crunchy kibble stuff...I much prefer the soft canned puppy food I've been eating but maybe this crunchy stuff tastes good too - I'll have to give it another try!
I went to a very nice veterinarian who said I am a healthy boy through and through! Good heart sounds, no luxating patellas signs in my knees (small breed dogs are prone to these), my little nuggets are descending as they should be, and I'm at a healthy weight for my breed and age. All I need is a loving home to adopt me in 3 weeks when I'm ready to go home! I've had my first DHPP shot (ouch!) and have been de-wormed (yuck!) and will have another dose of both before I am allowed to go to my forever home.
My foster mom says that I'm a playful and snuggly little boy who has the cutest brindle paws in the whole wide world! Right now I weight 3.5 lbs and won't get any bigger than about 12 lbs as my mom is only 10 lbs and my dad was 11lbs. Because I'll be a little dog when I grow up with delicate legs, I need a home that does not have small kids under the age of 8. It's not that I don't like kids - it's just that there is a high chance that when we play I might be accidentally hurt as I'm so much littler than kids. My foster parents say I would do just fine with a home that has other dogs and cats too if someone was willing to introduce us to them slowly. I also need to go to a home with a securely fenced in yard as I'll want to romp and play as much as possible and because I'm so tiny small holes or spaces in your fence could allow me to explore outside of the backyard!
