Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Jamie is a 3 year old 17 pound standard chocolate and tan longhair dachshund. He LOVES to play with toys but has a hard time deciding which one is his favorite. He's determined if he sleeps in the toy box, he'll be able to keep them ALL for himself! Jamie does, however, share nicely with the other dogs in his foster family, and enjoys playing with them as well. Jamie prefers not to be alone, so he would do best in a home with other dogs, preferably dachshunds.
Jamie's gorgeous coat is soft and full, and his flowing tail is always wagging - even when he's sitting down. Jamie loves to go on walks and is a devoted chaser of squirrels. He's taken it upon himself to keep his foster family's yard squirrel-free, and does an excellent job by regularly patrolling the fence (usually at TOP SPEED).
Jamie is an enthusiastic little guy who loves life and loves to tell you about it. He's not much of a barker -- instead, he has a whole vocabulary of rather expressive sounds which have caused much laughter in his foster home. His latest discovery was learning how to grunt. We wonder what sound he could possibly come up with next!!
Jamie is an excellent dish-washer and doubles as a foot warmer on cold evenings. Just think of the energy savings you would have with Jamie around!
Jamie was surrendered to our program by owners who had fallen on financial hard times and were being evicted. They loved Jamie, but could not provide for him anymore. Jamie is neutered, fully immunized and microchipped for permanent identification. He is also fully housetrained, and has excellent house manners.
